VELOCIO LUXE MENS BIB SHORT 2025
Velocio LUXE Men’s Bib Shorts — Premium Endurance Comfort for Chainsmith Riders
For the rider who spends real time in the saddle — whether it’s the Lapa loop, a long Sunday on the coast, or a fondo that drifts well past lunch — the Velocio LUXE Bib Short remains one of the most consistently chosen pieces of kit at Chainsmith. Built for all-day support and Italian-made refinement, LUXE is Velocio’s best-selling bib short for good reason.
Designed with minimal seams, a high-gauge compression Lycra, and a proprietary long-distance chamois, this is the bib short serious cyclists choose when comfort and performance matter equally.
Why Chainsmith Riders Choose LUXE
Exceptional Long-Distance Chamois
Velocio’s proprietary endurance chamois, developed with Elastic Interface, blends multi-density padding to reduce vibration and maintain support deep into the ride. Men’s-specific shaping ensures comfort whether you're climbing, cruising, or pushing the pace.
Compression That Works Hour After Hour
The LUXE fabric is an ultra-high-gauge Lycra offering reliable muscle support and improved circulation on long rides. It holds shape, resists transparency, and delivers a clean, matte finish that looks refined on and off the bike.
Minimal-Seam Construction
A three-panel design reduces unnecessary stitching to eliminate chafe points — especially important for Australian summer miles. The bib upper uses a mesh-connected design that moves with your body and stays cool under effort.
Crafted in Italy
Like the custom frames we champion at Chainsmith, the LUXE Bib Shorts are made in Italy by specialists who understand performance, craftsmanship, and longevity.
Technical Details
Fabric Composition:
57% Recycled Polyamide
43% Elastane
Fit & Inseam Guidance:
-
Men’s inseam: 28.5cm in size M (±1.5cm per size).
-
Compression level: High — comparable to Velocio’s CONCEPT bib.
-
Expect a snug feel when new. LUXE softens after a few wears and washes, conforming to the rider’s shape.
Fit Notes for Chainsmith Clients
If you're new to Velocio, expect a firmer compression feel than many mainstream brands. This is deliberate. LUXE is designed to perform in riding position, not when standing in a mirror. The bib straps relax once you’re on the bike, and the chamois position aligns correctly when seated. The best way to measure bibs is to feel the strap is to place your fingers on a shoulder, below the strap, and lift the strap. Ensure there is minimal bounce of only 2 or 3cm when your fingers are creating tension lifting the strap.
Care Instructions (Recommended by Chainsmith Workshop)
Caring for premium Lycra extends the life of your kit — and keeps your investment performing as it should.
-
Wash before first wear to soften the fibres and enhance fit.
-
Machine wash cold (30°C) with like colours.
-
Use a mild detergent; avoid bleach and dry-cleaning.
-
Close all fastenings to prevent snagging from other garments.
-
Lay flat to dry — never tumble dry Lycra or elastic.
-
Avoid heat exposure to preserve compression and printed logos.
These precautions align with what we see daily in the Chainsmith workshop: quality kit lasts far longer when heat and harsh detergents are avoided.
Chamois Comparison Across Velocio Models
-
LUXE / ONE / Ultralight: Dual-density endurance pad for long-distance comfort.
-
CONCEPT: A race-driven, sewn-in multi-density chamois offering minimal bulk with maximum performance.
Each model adjusts pad shape and density distribution according to intended use — a thoughtful detail appreciated by our long-distance and bunch-ride clients.
2025 LUXE Updates — What’s New
Velocio didn’t reinvent the wheel; they refined what was already leading the category:
-
Slightly extended leg length to land just above the knee in riding position
-
Raised waist panel for better coverage
-
Updated bib straps for improved comfort on long rides
After eight years of feedback and thousands of kilometres of testing, this iteration pushes the LUXE Bib into what we’d call “set-and-forget” territory — once on, you simply ride.
Ideal For
-
Long-distance road riding
-
Bunch rides and training blocks
-
Riders seeking Italian-made quality with high compression
-
Cyclists who want a chafe-free, supportive performance bib short
