You may arrive knowing the exact name on the frame. You may arrive knowing only that your current bicycle no longer represents where your riding is going.

A respected marque can begin the conversation, but it cannot make the decision for you. Geometry, material, intended use, handling and component choices must eventually meet your position, experience and expectations.

Chainsmith’s collection includes two distinct paths. Our custom bicycle houses construct frames individually, allowing geometry, material and finish to become part of your commission. Our selected performance brands begin with established models whose size and specification can be considered around your intended use.

You do not need to understand every geometry chart or carbon process before speaking with us. You need to tell us what you value, where the current experience falls short and what you want the next bicycle to make possible.

We then bring together knowledge of the makers, Fit-First assessment and practical workshop experience to recommend a direction. The objective is not to place you on whatever is readily available. It is to help you recognise the bicycle that makes sense for you.

You do not choose Sarto simply because you want a bicycle made in Italy. You choose it when the relationship between your position, your ambitions and the frame deserves to be resolved as one project.

Your commission begins before carbon is cut. You might be seeking greater confidence on a descent, a lighter response beneath you on a climb, more composure across long days or proportions that have never felt convincing on a standard frame.

Those priorities give the bicycle its reason for being. Geometry, tube construction, component integration and finish are then considered together rather than inherited from a bicycle designed for a theoretical average customer.

Behind your bicycle is a workshop that understands the difference between volume and responsibility. Enrico Sarto stepped away from producing frames for other names so that cutting, lay-up, curing, finishing and paint could remain under the family’s control.

You may already know which Sarto speaks to you. You may have imagined the components, the finish or even the roads on which you first want to ride it. Chainsmith helps turn that vision into a coherent starting specification and an indicative investment.

Your included Fit-First consultation then establishes the position the frame must support. We use those findings to refine geometry and component dimensions with Sarto before you approve the commission.

When the frame returns to Sydney, your bicycle is assembled as the continuation of that same idea. Your position is applied, the mechanical details are resolved and the finished bicycle is prepared for you—not merely placed on a floor waiting for an owner.

DeAnima: when your intentions deserve character.

You may arrive with more than measurements. Perhaps you already have an idea of how the bicycle should feel—or how decisively it should express itself.

DeAnima gives that instinct somewhere to go. Its work brings custom geometry together with carbon or steel construction, contemporary performance and a visual identity that does not ask to disappear into the bunch.

The company grew from the combined knowledge of Gianni Pegoretti, Antonio Attanasio and Matt Cazzaniga. Their approach respects the Italian frame-building tradition while refusing to preserve it behind glass. Materials, profiles and finishes remain open to development because your bicycle must belong on today’s roads—not in a museum.

Your priorities determine where the conversation leads. You might want a light and responsive road bicycle, greater composure over long distances, room to leave sealed roads behind or proportions that standard frame sizes have never served convincingly.

Chainsmith helps turn those intentions into a coherent commission. We discuss the likely frame, components and investment with you, use Fit-First findings to refine your position and dimensions, then work with DeAnima to resolve the geometry, finish and final specification.

The result should not feel like a bicycle selected for an imagined customer. It should feel recognisably yours—from your first look at it to the way it settles beneath you on familiar roads.

3T: when the road refuses to stay a road.

A considered platform for speed, distance and the freedom to continue when sealed roads give way to something less predictable.

Your route may begin on familiar tarmac, turn onto broken backroads and finish somewhere a traditional road bicycle was never expected to go.

3T is relevant when you do not want to choose between speed and possibility too early. Its bicycles are shaped around clearly defined purposes, but those purposes acknowledge that contemporary riding rarely remains inside a single category.

The RaceMax is the faster mixed-surface proposition: aerodynamic in intent, responsive on sealed roads and designed around tyres capable of carrying speed beyond them. The Extrema moves the boundary further, introducing greater tyre capacity, control and provision for longer, rougher adventures.

Those differences matter, but a useful recommendation cannot begin and end with tyre clearance. We consider how much sealed road you actually ride, the surfaces you want to explore, the distance you expect to cover, the equipment you need to carry and the position you can sustain with confidence.

Your Fit-First assessment helps establish the appropriate model, frame size and front-end dimensions before the final specification is resolved. Wheels, tyres, gearing and contact points can then be selected as parts of one coherent bicycle rather than assembled from a list of fashionable gravel components.

Within the range, 3T’s Italia models add another dimension. Their carbon frames are manufactured in Italy using proprietary production processes developed by 3T. Other models provide access to the same design thinking at different levels of construction and investment. The distinction is made clear so that you can decide which qualities matter to your own commission.

Chainsmith’s understanding of 3T comes from more than a geometry chart. We have ridden these bicycles on Sydney roads, through the Noosa Hinterland and across routes where the appeal lies precisely in not knowing what appears after the next turn. That experience informs how we recommend and configure them for Australian riding.
