LEMOND WATT BOX FOR BIKE TRAINER
WATT BOX ONLY - TO CONNECT SPECIFICALLY WITH LEMOND REVOLUTION BIKE TRAINER 1
Cyclists have turned to watt-based training to develop a better sense of their actual efforts allowing them to better understand and modulate their power output. The Revolution’s Direct Drive system naturally allows for a accurate way to measure power.
First, the aerodynamic resistance is determined by measuring the speed of the flywheel and also involves a function that measures air density. Mechanical losses are also considered as the belt used to spin the flywheel has a mild temperature dependence and there is a slight bit of bearing resistance.
Finally, mechanical resistance from the drive-train is entered into the equation.
All the internal sensors are carefully calibrated. Although not required, a cadence sensor aids in the calculations.
If not used, the Watt Box may still indicate power being placed on the pedals while coasting.
